SEP 27 · CELEBRATING COPPOLA
Megalopolis
Directed by Francis Ford Coppola
Starring Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker

Rated R | Runtime 2 hours & 18 minutes

THE NEWEST CULTURAL ZEITGEIST from FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA

MEGALOPOLIS is a Roman Epic set in an imagined Modern America. The City of New Rome must change, causing conflict between Cesar Catilina (Adam Driver), a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), who remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero (Nathalie Emmanuel), the mayor's daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves.

"The film features gorgeously eloquent visual flourishes which make it increasingly clear that Coppola is addressing some big, essential ideas and the sheer scope of his ambition stuns."

Awards Daily

"It’s truly difficult to qualify the beast of an experience that is Megalopolis, and because of that, there’s an undefinable elegance to Coppola’s twilight magnum opus. As much of a disaster this is, it sure is a beautiful one."
